Problem:
With I Like It Like That's site looming for over 5 years, it was time for a restructure and redesign to reflect the changes in our growth and new name. The original site was mistreated with many problems in its execution. It had started to become a simple business card on the web as well as list of clients. It didn't reflect our energy or passion for our clients and it had become obsolete.
Solution:
In an effort to approach our new site, we wanted to take a few things into consideration: 1. We designed a new logo and maintained our existing colors and would need to leverage both of those in the new design. 2. We wanted to represent our energy and passion. 3 We wanted our site to work for us.
Initially, we mapped out our most important areas that we wanted to communicate. After the initial flow chart was generated we approached the design. In this early stage we designed a few “look and feels” and finally decided on the one you see now. The “wave” navigation at the top of the page was decided upon for a couple of reasons: 1. It represented energy. 2. It fit well with the fact that we live, work, and play in the lakes area. The existing colors were leveraged and the new logo incorporated as planned.
One of the main considerations in the development of this site was for our support page. We wanted to develop an area to help reduce our time on the phone and email support. This is an area we plan on updating frequently as our client's needs arise. There is always some homework that our clients must do in order to either get their email working correctly or updating their sites, this portion of the site is a “cheat sheet” for our clients.
